Maintaining optimal environmental conditions in cargo holds is vital for preserving sensitive goods such as perishable foods, chemicals, or pharmaceuticals. This application uses specialized sensors to monitor and control parameters like humidity, temperature, and CO2 levels, ensuring compliance with regulations and avoiding spoilage.

How It Works

  1. Environmental Measurement: Sensors such as the CL-202-E from ICP DAS are strategically placed throughout the cargo hold to monitor temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels in real-time.
  2. Data Logging and Centralization: The sensors feed their data into CL-202-E data loggers, which record trends over time and ensure historical data is available for audits and compliance reporting.
  3. Centralized Monitoring: An industrial computer TAH-DC08 displays the collected data through a dashboard, allowing operators to monitor environmental conditions remotely and in real-time.
  4. Automated Alerts and Adjustments: If environmental conditions deviate from acceptable thresholds, an alert system triggers notifications to the crew. Additionally, automated controls of the TCW242 from Teracom with RS485 connection and relay outputs can adjust ventilation or cooling systems to restore optimal conditions.
  5. Analysis and Compliance: Reports generated by software tools provide detailed insights into environmental trends, helping operators ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Advantages

  • Protects cargo quality.
  • Enables compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Automates corrective actions for environmental control.
  • Enhances visibility into cargo conditions during transport.
