The Mega Modem is 4 in One Modem that helps users explore different communication options for NCD Enterprise products. The Mega Modem offers USB, WiFi TCP/IP, WiFi MQTT, and Bluetooth, all in one devices. Talk to NCD Enterprise products using any of your favorite communications technologies, or use all at one time. As a USB Modem, you will be able to read sensor data from NCD IoT Wireless Sensors and endNodes into any application that supports serial communications at 115.2K Baud. Also supported is Bluetooth VCP, a virtual COM port over Bluetooth, which provides the same functionality as USB, but with a Wireless Bluetooth connection. With integrated WiFi communications, you will be able to speak to IoT Wireless Sensors and endNodes using TCP/IP communications on a local network. Simply open the IP Address and Socket and begin sending and receiving data.

We saved the best for last, as the Mega Modem supports a MQTT Tunnel over WiFi. As a tunnel device, you can read and control NCD Enterprise IoT devices from a MQTT broker. We have tested compatibility with Beebotte, but it should work with any basic auth MQTT broker. Unlike a Gateway which interprets sensor data and converts it to real-world values, MQTT communications is tunneled, sending the raw data from the sensor to the MQTT Broker. This allows all sensor parsing to take place on the cloud, eliminating the need for firmware updates as new sensors are released.
