The ET-2242 / 2242U module, which provides various digital I/O functions, is an IP-based Ethernet I/O monitoring and control module. The module can be controlled remotely over a 10/100M Ethernet network using the Modbus TCP/UDP protocol. Modbus has become a de facto standard communications protocol in the industry and is now the most commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. This makes the ET-2242/2242U module seamlessly integrate with HMI, SCADA, PLC and other software systems.
The ET-2242U provides 16 channels of source or sink digital output via cable connection and each channel can drive a 500 mA load. There are configurable power and safety values ??for the digital output. With 2 Ethernet ports, the ET-2242U enables daisy-chaining that allows flexibility in device placement, eases installation, and reduces infrastructure costs. It features 8 kV ESD protection, 4 kV EFT protection, 3 kV surge and 3000 VDC I/O isolation. They are also provided to improve noise protection capabilities in industrial environments.
