The low-profile design compensates for most off-center loads, making the "pancake" type a very popular choice. The LCF455 Pancake Load Cell (tension base) is comparable to the LCF450, but this model comes with a tension base, making it suitable for in-line applications on actuators or threaded assemblies. The Pancake Load Cell (tension base) has a very robust construction available in anodized aluminum for lower capacities (500 lb - 2,000 lb) and stainless steel 17-4 for higher capacities (300 lbs and 5,000 lbs - 10,000 lbs). You'll also find options available for metric threads, fatigue rating, and an amplified version.
The Pancake Load Cell (tension base) uses foil strain gauge technology, offering excellent precision. It has a non-linearity of ±0.1% and a nominal deflection of 0.002” to 0.005”.
